I primarily use DOF, so that the image looks like a art photo, and secondarily to hide some imperfections of used models :)

I have that pool and I gotta say, this one of your best images ever it is so lifelike. The only time I ever used that pool it didn't look half as good.

Octane is highly suitable for unnatural objects or architecture renders, but depicting lifelike characters is still a challenge :)
